Three Peas in a Pod

Privacy

You are telling us about your children, your home and your work history. This is what we do with that, in plain words.

Last updated

The short version

  • We collect what you type into our forms, what you text or email us, which link or assistant brought you to the site, and nothing else.
  • We use it to arrange childcare and to consider caregivers for work. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • A family's details go to the caregiver who is coming to their home, and a caregiver's profile goes to the family they are going to. That is the service.
  • The site sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, and we count visits and taps ourselves, with nothing that identifies you.
  • Ask us to show you, correct or delete what we hold and we will. [email protected] or 720.245.5048.

What we collect

From families

When you request care: your name, phone number, email, and neighborhood or zip code (a member booking a sitter gives only a name and number, because we have the rest on file); the date, time and length of the care; how many children and their ages; whether you would rather be called or texted; and whatever you write in the notes, which families often use for allergies, pets and routines. Once a sitter is booked we also need the address they are going to. When you ask about a nanny placement or a membership we ask for your ZIP code at the start, because where you live is the first thing we match on, and your street address if you want to give it then; you can leave the street for when we talk. If you like, you can also tell us when you would like to start, your pets and the days and hours you have in mind.

Once you are a client we keep a profile of your family, so you do not have to say it all again each time. It holds your addresses and how to get in (gate code, parking, which door); the other adults you ask us to keep, such as a second parent or a grandparent, with their phone numbers; your children's names, ages, allergies, medical notes and bedtimes; your pets and house rules; which sitters you would like again and which you would rather not have; notes we make after a conversation with you; and a history of your requests, bookings and texts. Only the people we have given access can open it. You can see or correct your family's part of it yourself: we can send you a link, by text, that opens only your profile and stops working after an hour, or you can tell us and we will change it.

From caregivers

When you apply: your name and the name you go by, phone and email, how you heard about us, your experience, skills and certifications, what you write about yourself, and whether you are willing to pass a background and driving record check. If you upload a resume, a cover letter or certificates, we keep those files. If we move forward, the background and driving record checks are run by a screening company, which asks for your written authorization itself before anything is checked.

From everyone

The texts, emails and calls you exchange with us. When you tick the box agreeing to text messages, we record that you agreed, when, and on which form.

Payments

Card payments are taken by Stripe on Stripe's own page. Your card number goes to Stripe and never reaches us; we see that a payment was made and for how much.

What we use it for

  • Finding and confirming a sitter or nanny for you, and telling you who is coming.
  • Reviewing caregiver applications, checking references and certifications, and offering work.
  • Booking confirmations, reminders and changes, by text, email or phone.
  • Billing, and the records a business has to keep.
  • Keeping the forms free of spam and abuse.

We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build profiles of you for anyone else.

Who sees it

Your caregiver, or your family. A sitter who takes your booking is given what they need to do the job well: your family name, the address and how to get in, the time, your children's names and ages, their allergies and medical notes, bedtimes, pets and house rules. The rest of your profile stays with us. You are given the caregiver's profile and contact details before they arrive. For a nanny placement, candidates and families see each other's details as the search goes on.

A sitter you have told us you would rather not have is not texted about your bookings, and what you told us about them is for us alone.

The companies that run our tools, which handle information only to provide their service to us: Cloudflare (hosts this site, stores uploaded documents, delivers form emails and runs the bot check), Twilio (carries our text messages), Stripe (takes card payments), our email provider, and the screening company that runs caregiver background checks.

The law. If a court order or a child-safety obligation requires it, we will disclose what we must and no more.

Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Text messages

We text only people who have agreed to it: by ticking a box on one of our forms that starts unticked, by texting us first, or, for a family who books by phone, by saying yes when we ask. We read out what the texts are about, that how many varies, that message and data rates may apply and how to stop them, and we record the answer. Families get messages about their booking, their sitter and reminders. Caregivers get job offers, booking details and certification reminders. How many depends on how often you book or work. Message and data rates may apply.

We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, other than the carriers and the messaging provider that deliver the messages.

Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop; reply START to turn them back on, or HELP for help. A family who opts out is called instead, and nothing else about their booking changes. The full text terms are in our terms.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own and carries no advertising pixels or social media trackers. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare says uses no cookies, localStorage or other client-side state, does not fingerprint people and does not track individual visitors across sites. It records the page viewed, the page that linked to it, the country, the browser, operating system and kind of device, and how fast the page loaded, and we see only totals; see Cloudflare's Web Analytics documentation. The forms run a bot check from Cloudflare called Turnstile, which looks at signals from your browser to tell a person from a script; it is covered by Cloudflare's privacy policy. Like every web host, Cloudflare keeps short-lived logs of requests, including IP addresses, to keep the site secure.

We keep our own count of how the site is used, and we keep it to counts. When you open the site, we note the page you landed on, where you came from as a single word (a Google search, an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, one of our own links or cards, or "none"), whether your screen is phone-sized, and whether you are in Colorado, from the region Cloudflare reports. When you tap to call, text or email us, press a "request care" or "apply" button, or open the prices page, we count that tap with the same word for where you came from. As you move through a form we count which step you reached. None of this includes your address, your browser's details, a cookie or any identifier: a row says that somebody arrived, and never who. If you send a form, we note alongside it which link or assistant brought you, and your browser remembers that word only until you close the tab.

If you start one of our forms and leave the page or reload it before sending, your browser keeps what you had typed so you do not have to start again. It stays in that browser tab, is gone when you close the tab or send the form, and none of it reaches us until you press Send.

When a member books a sitter and leaves "Remember me on this device" ticked, that browser keeps their name and mobile number for 90 days from the booking, so the next booking is only the date. It stays on that device, is not a cookie and is not sent to us until they book; "Not you?" on the form forgets it at once.

How long we keep it

  • Caregiver applications and their documents: twelve months, then the files are deleted automatically. Files from an application that was started and never sent are deleted after one day.
  • Caregivers who join the network: for as long as you are part of it, and afterward only what the law requires us to keep.
  • Family requests, bookings and your family's profile: for as long as you are a client, and afterward only what tax and business records require.
  • Text consent records: for as long as we text you, plus the period carriers require us to be able to show the consent.

Ask us to delete something sooner and, unless the law makes us keep it, we will.

Children

This site is for parents and caregivers, and it is not meant to be used by children. We never ask a child for anything. What a parent tells us about their children (ages, allergies, routines) is used only to arrange their care and is shared only with the caregiver booked for that family.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You can stop texts with STOP and stop emails by telling us. You can make a request by phone instead of the form, and leave any optional field empty. Write to [email protected] or call or text 720.245.5048, and a person answers.

Changes and contact

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it, and if the change matters to people we already hold information about, we tell them. Three Peas In A Pod is a private childcare agency in Denver, Colorado. Questions about any of this go to [email protected].
