Nanny placement

The right nanny, found by someone who has been one.

Part-time, full-time, or a share with another family. Patrece was a nanny for ten years before she placed one, so the matching starts with your household, not a stack of résumés.

Three Peas in a Pod is a Denver nanny agency that finds part-time and full-time nannies, and arranges nanny shares, for families across the Denver metro area. In 2026 a search starts with a $500 intake fee, and the placement fee is 7% of the nanny's annual pay for part-time (25 hours a week or less) or 8% for full-time; a nanny share is $550 per family. Every placement starts with a trial (two weeks part-time, three full-time) with a free replacement inside it, and the family pays the nanny directly through a licensed payroll service.

What you get

  • Matched by a career nanny of ten years
  • Every candidate fully vetted and interviewed in person before you see a name
  • Two or three candidates who fit. You interview them, and you choose

  • Fees published in full: 7% of annual pay part-time, 8% of annual pay full-time, and a $500 intake fee that starts the search
  • A payment plan if you want one: up to three installments for a $200 admin fee
  • Nanny shares: the second family found, and the agreement written down
  • An introduction to a licensed payroll service
  • A babysitting membership to cover the gap while we search

Three ways this usually goes

Part-time

25 hours a week or less. School pickups, afternoons, a few full days: the hours that are hardest to fill from a job board.

7% of annual pay

Full-time

26 hours a week or more. One person your children know, with the pay, the benefits and the agreement written down.

8% of annual pay

A nanny share

Two families, one nanny, a cost each family can live with. It goes wrong most often when it is set up on a group chat.

$550 per family

How a search runs

Six to eight weeks on average, from your first call to your nanny's first day.

  1. A discovery call

Tell us the hours, the ages, the pay range and what matters most. The $500 intake fee starts the search.

  2. She sources and vets

Background, driving record, CPR, references and a personal interview, before you ever see a name.

  3. You interview and choose

Two or three candidates who fit, on paper first and then in person. You pick your person.

  4. Trial, then a contract

Two weeks part-time or three full-time, with a free replacement if either side wants to change course. Then you sign, and we introduce you to a payroll service.

What "vetted" means here

Nanny shares, properly arranged

Two compatible families share one nanny, and each pays part of the hourly rate. The children get company, the nanny usually earns more, and both households pay noticeably less than they would for a nanny of their own.

We match on location, schedule, and most of all the ages and temperaments of the children. If you do not have a family in mind, we find one. If you do, we put the arrangement in writing: whose house, whose car, what happens when one family goes on vacation, and who pays for what.

Our fee is $550 per family. You and the other family pay the nanny.

What it costs

  • Percentages are of the nanny's gross annual pay.
  • The $500 intake fee is non-refundable and comes off nothing else.
  • Payment plans are available for a $200 admin fee, in up to three installments.
  • Your nanny's pay is agreed between you and paid by you. Every fee we charge is on one page.

A full-time and a part-time year, with the employer's taxes, are worked through in What a nanny costs in Denver in 2026.

The trial, and what happens after it

Every placement starts with a trial: two weeks part-time, three weeks full-time. If either side wants to change course inside it, we search again at no further cost.

After the trial, the free replacement ends. You are welcome to start a new search, and a babysitting membership can cover the gap while we look.

Payroll, which nobody warns you about

A nanny in your home is your employee, not a contractor, and that brings payroll taxes with it. It has to be sorted before your nanny's first day.

We require payroll through a licensed service, and we will introduce you to one: HomePay by Care.com. You are free to use another. We do not run your payroll and we are not paid by whoever does.

Questions families ask

How does a nanny placement work?

It starts with a discovery call about the hours, the ages, the pay range and what matters most to you, and a $500 intake fee that starts the search. We source and vet candidates, you interview two or three who fit and choose your person, and a trial period follows before anyone signs a contract. The placement fee is 7% of annual pay for a part-time nanny and 8% of annual pay for full-time.

How long does the placement process take?

The average placement takes six to eight weeks from your first inquiry to your nanny's first day. That covers the discovery call, sourcing and vetting, interviews and onboarding, plus family matching if it is a share. Some move faster, depending on who is available and how quickly both sides are ready.

What is a nanny share?

Two compatible families share one dedicated, vetted nanny, and each pays part of the nanny's hourly rate. It costs each family noticeably less than a nanny of their own, the children get company, and the nanny usually earns more than in a single-family role.

How much does a nanny share cost in Denver?

Nanny share rates in Denver typically run $30 to $50 an hour in total, so each family pays roughly $15 to $25 an hour. Our fee for arranging a share is $550 per family.

How do you match families for a nanny share?

By location, by schedule, and most of all by the needs and temperament of the children. Every match is made on purpose. If you do not have a family in mind, we find one; if you already have a family or a nanny in mind, we can still put the arrangement on a proper footing.

What do families typically pay a nanny in Denver?

Usually $25 to $35 an hour, depending on experience, the number of children and what the household needs. That is paid to your nanny, not to us.

What if it is not the right fit?

Every placement includes a trial period, two weeks for part-time and three weeks for full-time, with a free replacement if either side wants to change course. Membership bookings can be cancelled free with 48 hours' notice.

What if the placement does not work out after the trial?

After the trial, you are welcome to start a new search, and a babysitting membership is a good way to cover the gap while we look. The free replacement ends with the trial: we keep our fees low on purpose, and that is the other side of it.
